My paintings explore the realms of a faith we as humans create, and incorporate in an iconic arrangement the psychological elements of constructing our own health, strengths and energy. My work explores the depth of faith, divinity, the health of the mind and body, and the yearning of nature lost and spiritual awakening. It takes the belief that one needs to take responsibility for all actions, and accept those actions in order to achieve a true sense of self, a true sense of awareness among the masses, and a positive identity in a universe of unsolved questions.
The ideas for my ‘mass consumption’ photographs and installations were originally taken from the notion that the general population exploits and takes for granted so many substances of life. These concepts morphed into ones that began to take on the psychological elements of greed, which met the economics of technology. Symbolized with paper, clay, synthetic fur representing the real as fake, and other everyday overused and abused items, these images play on the fence of dark humor versus a sick reality.
